==> Slaier: Descend Deep in the bowels of the meteor, something evil lurks. It is you. You are the monster. You gave up trying to hunt down Strern and Lofora a while ago, opting to fade into the darkness. You are not quite sure why you took off your shirt, but it probably has something to do with shirtlessness being your normal mode of dress. Equally perplexing is why you felt the need to use the bloody stump of Strern's removed arm as an oversized marker to draw his symbol on your chest. Whatever reasons you may have had, you forgot them.
You now make your way through the meteor, hoping to find someone else to "persuade" to join your cause. You can only hope that they all haven't been infected with the human notion of morality.

======> ADONIS: Enter stage left. And so you do, wandering aimlessly about the meteor, mapping out the new area in your memory, knowing exactly where you are, and completely oblivious to the highblood dramas that have played out not very long ago. You're in the midst of finding somewhere to hatch the matriorb, deciding that the core of the meteor would be the safest place to do so. As you are inspecting the walls and a curious monitor, you sense that there is something else occupying the otherwise empty spaces in the section. You turn your head to look down the corridor, clicking off your heavy lantern and switching on the overhead lights, flooding the short corridor with sickly yellow, aged lights, and call out. ADONIS: Hello? ADONIS: Is anyone there?

You tend to avoid using the overhead lights in that they give you a headache after a while, and that they tend to make you miss the Alternian sun a little too much. You had tried alchemizing a pair of night-vision goggles once, but they just made you look silly, you felt.

==> Slaier: Advance You follow the light. You slowly emerge from the darkness, you can see Adonis ahead of you, you begin approaching him. Your hands reflexively ball into fists, your mind races with thoughts of which scythe to use to collect the jade droplets from Adonis' body, until a thought occurs to you. The jade blood has the matriorb, you vaguely recall hearing about that at one point. All thoughts of violence against this troll are extinguished. He will understand, surely, even more than you Adonis should know that survival of the species takes precedence over emotions.
You don't bother wiping the blood off of your torso, he should see you for what you are.
SLAIER: I am here, Adonis. SLAIER: It's me, Slaier.
======> ADONIS: React. The first thing you see of Slaier is the blue X on a chiseled chest, quickly recognizing the build as none other than the group's resident tyrianblood. You shift your weight to one side, making it look like you were in the middle of something but was willing to give him your attention, free hand on hip. You give Slaier a closed smile, your yellow eyes dilated as much as the light would allow in a friendly manner. Your just as friendly tone is light, ignoring Slaier's obviously murderous mood. ADONIS: Well hello Mr. Stingo, what brings you to this neck of the woods? ADONIS: You aren't looking for me, are you?

You had only glanced at the blue mark on his chest, your eyes tightening to a predatory stare in that brief moment. You immediately know that things are going down, and mask yourself completely, shutting off the urge to turn the other way and run. You had always given Slaier your full attention when he addressed you, complying out of respect of the hemospectrum, and staying out of his way otherwise, so you hope your reaction to him isn't too suspicious.

==> Slaier: Approach You walk up to the jade blood. You can smell the apprehension on Adonis, he knows. Even if no one told him, he knows. The symbol on your chest is the marker of conflict. You smile, showing off every dagger like fang in your mouth.
SLAIER: I wasn't looking for anyone in particular, Huxley. SLAIER: But that doesn't mean I wasn't looking at all.
You gesture at the smears on your chest.
SLAIER: There have been... SLAIER: Complications. SLAIER: I had to cut one of the cerulean blood's arms off, he refused to comply with a direct order. SLAIER: I wont have insubordination in the ranks, not a damn chance. SLAIER: But you don't need to worry, I wont touch you. SLAIER: I wouldn't dare risk harming your precious charge... SLAIER: I'm sure YOU understand, right? A certain memo aside, you have always shown me the respect that my caste deserves, and in return I have not culled you.
======> ADONIS: Be casual. You move to him as soon as he comes close enough, you are just tall enough to fold an arm over his shoulder as you hold your side to his, just enough to avoid touching the mark on his chest. You hang onto his every word, eyes never leaving his. As you listen you lightly trail a finger along the blood mark on his chest, your brows furrowing when appropriate. ADONIS: Oh no, why would he ever do that? ADONIS: It wasn't because of Lofora, was it? She's always been such a tricky girl.
You scowl at the other seadweller's name. The few times you had talked about her, you always hinted of your distrust of her. Honestly, you distrust all seadwellers, really. Mostly because she was such an unknown without her soporific substances, never really knowing what she's like without them. The few times you had actually spent time with her, however, you found her to be pretty cool for a seadweller, unlike the one you are currently pasting yourself to. You've always found Slaier to be quite frightful. At the mention of the memo, you look away guiltily. ADONIS: Oh. ADONIS: Yes, that. ADONIS: I apologize, it was a misunderstanding on my part. ADONIS: I had been working up the courage to apologize to you personally.

==> Slaier: Shrug You do, in the strongest way possible. You return your mighty shoulders to the default position and try to ignore the fact that Adonis is basically feeling you up. You're okay with that, you're okay with a lot of things now that you're seeing clearly. In your mind, lowbloods have a multitude of uses, it wouldn't do for them not to fear you, but if some were to be powerful and show their respect for you, you would naturally hold them in high regard. Adonis is one of these trolls, you can feel something like apprehension coming from him, yet he swallows it and even goes so far as to make physical contact with the magnificent you. You are impressed, to say the least.
SLAIER: I don't hold it against you. SLAIER: Rather, I was intrigued that one of lesser strength would challenge me to a duel. SLAIER: I would have killed you had you made good on your word of course, but praise would be heaped upon your name for generations. SLAIER: Regardless, yes, it was Lofora. He attempted to protect her from my wrath. SLAIER: So many of our fellows vastly underestimate me, even though my God Tier powers eclipse many of their own abilities.
You scowl momentarily.
SLAIER: Lofora has lost her mind. SLAIER: She is resigned to defeat already, even though I have assured her that we can defeat Jack. SLAIER: And it is the truth. However, only together can we hope to destroy him. SLAIER: Can anyone blame me for my actions? If we were still on Alternia, they would have both been executed! What I did was mercy...
======>Your smile only gains a slight curl as he praises you for having likely non-existant balls. There's only so much you can do when you're being reassured you would be utterly destroyed and be praised for having courage to duel him on his own turf. So you shrug and brush it aside in favor of staying on topic. Your expression transitions just as easily to that to concern. ADONIS: Why would it had come down to that? ADONIS: Why not just make the humans deal with him? ADONIS: They made him, right? ADONIS: That way we don't have to worry about possibly losing anybody. ADONIS: We've been pretty lucky to have gotten this far with nobody dying.

You ignore Slaier's explanations. You don't go anywhere near them, because your own beliefs is that your old society is dead, and that your group should be focusing on repopulating, not whether or not a very valuable someone deserves to die because you can't get the fuck over yourself. Personally, if Slaier was an alien, you would have had killed him a long time ago. Not through his silly little duels, but by blowing out his section's bulkhead and shooting him off into space. You've been planning to do that for some time now, actually. All you need to do is perfect the space-faring suit you've been making. You wouldn't have told a soul about it, however.

==> Slaier: Be irritated You are. So very much. This one too? He would let someone else fight his battle for a fear of death? You move away from Adonis and scowl at him, the irritation plain on your face. You are not pleased with cowardice, especially not now.
SLAIER: Wrong. SLAIER: The humans are weaker than we are, they wouldn't be able to kill him for sure. We can. SLAIER: Although I do want the humans on our side for the final battle, I'm still working on ways to get them here. SLAIER: I'll need them tired by the end, so that they're easy prey.
You narrow your eyes at the jade blood, you don't trust him yet you let him get close to you, your mind is still reeling from using your Rage on Strern.
SLAIER: At any rate, we're a warrior race. SLAIER: We live and die with violence, there is no other way for us to exist. SLAIER: The humans have already infected some of us with their black and white morality! SLAIER: As trolls we have our own morality, but it only comes in tyrian purple!
======> ADONIS: Have an unusual moment of clarity.
You are. While the threat of him knocking your head clean off suddenly spiked, you aren't willing to give up your mission so easily. Not when knowing you have a chance to talk the tyrian blood down and have him see your way. When he pulls away, you cross your arms and look as unimpressed as you can in front of the highest royalty. You had gotten the sense that after the destruction of your universe and your planets, you'd all be a lot closer than a tyrant king and his peasants.
ADONIS: All I'm saying is that we should focus on surviving instead of picking more fights. ADONIS: If you keep going around chopping arms off, you're weakening us, not the monster. ADONIS: Who cares about a malevolent planet-slaying demi-god that doesn't know where you are when you've got a bored seadweller running around just around the corner, am I right?
You thrust your chin out a bit as you smile at him humorlessly, eyes narrowed. You hadn't missed the fact that he had specifically tore a ceruelian-blood's arm off. You know which way the shit rolls. If you don't stand up to Slaier here and call his bullshit, you're no better than dead, anyway.
You then walk bodily up to him and pat his shoulder, now baring your comparatively modest fanged teeth at him in a defiant smile.
ADONIS: Point is; you keep doing this,
You nod your head down at the seadweller's bloodied chest.
ADONIS: We, trolls and humans, lose either way.
You give an exaggerated shrug as you step away again, looking at him helplessly, as if to say "that's just the way things are."
ADONIS: You just need to find something to do, like me.

==> Slaier: Consider other perspectives Whoa wait what? You can do that? You close your eyes for a moment and listen to Adonis, you know what he's saying makes sense, but it still takes a while for it to get past your ego. Lofora made you angry with her self loathing act and Strern only exacerbated the problem by misunderstanding your intentions.
SLAIER: I know, I know. SLAIER: You're right, unfortunately. SLAIER: I'm doing more harm than good at this point, no matter how justified I am.
You sigh, it's hard to push down the urge to kill Adonis for daring to talk down to you, but you manage it.
SLAIER: You have to understand though, despite the situation we find ourselves in, I am still the emperor, I am still your ruler. SLAIER: I tried being kind and understanding, you all threw it back in my face and called me useless. SLAIER: When you've hatched the Matriorb, and the new Mother Grub matures, do you think anything will be different? SLAIER: Do you think a species can change so easily? SLAIER: Unlikely, new trolls will be hatched, they'll grow and be every bit as brutal as we are. SLAIER: Even if the hemospectrum means nothing anymore, we are an imperial people. For thousands of years we have had an emperor or empress to lead us. SLAIER: I understand that you all would wish to do away with that practice, and I can accept that someday I will no longer have my throne.
You look directly into Adonis' eyes, you want to make damn sure that your point gets across.
SLAIER: Consider this: I am one of strongest troll's on the meteor, physically. SLAIER: With what little psionic ability I possess, I have the ability to draw others to my purpose. SLAIER: As far as God Tier goes, I am an entity of pure hatred, offensively, I am among the strongest of our God Tier players. SLAIER: Knowing all of these things, why do some of you seek to challenge and belittle me? Would it not be more conducive to victory to treat me as a fellow team mate? SLAIER: Most of the others still fear me on some level, they inherently distrust me, despite the fact that I only attack when provoked. SLAIER: Perhaps I could see all of you as people, rather than potential victims, if I weren't so worried that you might make an attempt on my life due to your ignorance.
======>You listen to him, but your expression only betrays your bewilderment. You throw your hands up in the air while you're still holding your flashlight. ADONIS: Where is all of this coming from? ADONIS: I don't remember any of these conversations! ADONIS: I've never called you useless or ever argued your right to authority! ADONIS: Who were you talking to when you were called all that? ADONIS: You weren't talking to Strern and assumed I thought the same thing just because I'm one shade lower on the spectrum, did you? ADONIS: And personally, I don't really care if the grubs grow up even more violent than us. ADONIS: I'm just concerned if there'll BE any grubs to begin with. ADONIS: Really, they'd probably end up pretty fucked up with no lusus around anymore. ADONIS: But who knows. We'll get there when we get there.
You briefly think about how fucked up it is for you, only six sweeps old, to already be thinking about grubs. You've reflected on this thought more than once, but never thought too deeply about it. You sigh inwardly and get your mind back on topic. ADONIS: They don't trust you because you're unpredictable as fuck, Slaier. ADONIS: And you're armed to the fucking teeth, not to mention you don't seem to ever hesitate to throw your considerable weight around. ADONIS: You're an emperor without a throne. Your only real sign of authority to the rest of us is your blood color. ADONIS: And a lot of them threw the concept of the hemospectrum out the window now that there are, you know, only twelve of us left. ADONIS: We all had just built worlds, fought armies, killed a god, and then saw all our work made completely moot by some random entity that doesn't even belong to our session, just as we're reaching for our reward. ADONIS: And, personally, I created a universe only to see it fall the fuck apart not even a week later of seeing it for the first time. ADONIS: So yeah. ADONIS: I think we all have a right to feel sore for a little while, don't you think? ADONIS: It's not like we have much else to do right now.
You nod to his chest again. By now you're leaning back against the opposite wall, arms folded again, no longer smiling. You had abandoned the lecturing tone once you're sure you've got his attention. Now you're divulging your perspective of the situation. You've thought long and hard about it all, and hadn't had the chance to discuss it with anyone until now. You shift your weight to your other foot. You've even forgotten about your plans to kill him. ADONIS: So yeah. We should focus on getting the humans here first before we even think about taking on the monster. ADONIS: While we're likely strong enough to take him on ourselves, the risk of too many of us dying in the process is too high. ADONIS: In the meantime, though, I don't think there's much for us to do. ADONIS: So, like I said. Find something to do. ADONIS: Take up a hobby. ADONIS: Explore the meteor with me.

You make your offer with a small curl of a smile, more genuine than the first one you gave him. You never broke eye-contact with him, staring him straight in the eye.

==> Slaier: Aggress You point at Adonis accusingly. You're going to be more gentle with this one, since he seems to understand that steps should be taken towards victory. You have completely abandoned the intent to kill Adonis.
SLAIER: You think I act this way because of the Hemospectrum? SLAIER: I have known a hell that none of you can imagine! SLAIER: You never had to feed your lusus other troll's lusi or other trolls themselves in order to, oh I don't know, keep him from psychically murder the entire race! SLAIER: I did! That was my life! I was born and then lived with the fate of an entire civilization on my shoulders! SLAIER: As long as I fed him, the species was safe, we could live another day. Do you know how scared I am now that it's not that easy to keep everyone alive? I can't just feed Jack and make things okay. SLAIER: I'm scared, more afraid then I've ever been in my life, because I don't know how to progress from here. I don't know how to make sure that tomorrow comes for us!
You wipe the cerulean smear from your chest, some spots remain due to having dried too much, but it comes off for the most part. You hold up a cerulean covered hand.
SLAIER: Do you think I care about this right now? SLAIER: This is nothing more than a color, I don't care how far below mine it is. SLAIER: Blood colors no longer matter to me, in fact, considering that our lowbloods have abilities that Lofora and I could never have? I'd say I hold them in far higher regard than I would another tyrian. SLAIER: And another thing! SLAIER: I can feel any kind of aggression, especially if it's towards me. SLAIER: I don't need anyone to tell me what they think of me when I can feel it crawling over my skin like a thousand legbeasts!
You ended up snapping anyway, you didn't mean to but you did. This always happens. Someone speaks to you with some sort of reason and you just flip out on them, that's probably why no one likes you. Then Adonis makes you an offer and, well, it sort of catches you off guard.
SLAIER: You would let me accompany you? SLAIER: What's in it for you?
======>You listen to him quietly, but wrinkle your nose when he holds up his bloodied hand. When he's done you go over to him and take a washcloth from your syllidex and wipe the blood from his hand, then kind of take his hand in yours and start messing with his fingers, looking them over as you thought about what to say. ADONIS: You're right. I can't imagine what it was like for you before the game. ADONIS: I was spending most of my time exploring caves. Kind of like what I'm doing now. ADONIS: Why would any of that even cross my mind? ADONIS: The most that I've ever known about highbloods is that they seemed to consider lowbloods as little more than animals that took up space. ADONIS: I wouldn't really know, though, nobody messed with me much.
You look up at him, brows furrowed slightly as you give him a hurt look. ADONIS: It's pretty unfair that you expect the rest of us to know what you've been through, though.
Your woofbeast eyes have always been your trump card. You then warm up and smile to him again, wider than before, but just as genuine. ADONIS: Yeah, it'd be fun! ADONIS: There's nothing in it for me besides your company.
