Her parents traveled a lot for a variety of different adult-like business, so she ended up raising herself; which wasn’t really hard, since she knew just how to get herself to cooperate. Still, it was a lonely life, since they lived in a small, rural town somewhere in the woods of Canada. With a small population there weren’t many people in the town Cali had to find herself her own friends. That’s what turned her to the internet, but alongside that she found she had a real knack for gardening. She could plant a flower and it would bloom the next day against all odds or reasoning. Her secret was talking to the plants, which she did probably a bit more than she needed to, but no one could argue with her results. That’s all there is to it, really. A simple girl forced to entertain herself due to the prolonged absenses of her parents. [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]home[/style] ❧ Cali lives in a quaint little family home, the kind with a white picket fence and a tire swing. Or at least that’s where she’s supposed to live. With her parents being gone all the time and an increasingly ambitious love of nature, she slowly moved herself out of the house and into a treehouse in her backyard. Of course she still uses the house itself for its kitchen and facilities, even going so far as wiring a zipline from her treehouse through the window of her old bedroom. But it only goes that way. Cali might have gotten a little overzealous with her gardening over the years. The house, normally white-shingled with a mowed lawn and one car driveway, has become covered in vines that have grown out of control. Not that Cali minds. They’ve almost taken on a mind of her own, even going so far as to help her on her day to day sometimes. She even taught one particular branch how to spread peaut butter on her toast in the morning. Once or twice she might’ve bitten into a shoe, though. The vines have become an almost crucial part of the structure, repairing the parts they damaged by becoming part of it themselves. QW: Sometimes she might come off as a bit inattentive and airheaded~ QW: And she gets really excited when talking about the new additions to her garden. QW: Like that new rose bush she planted by the shed. QW: Or the new fertilizer she’d picked up. QW: It’s got a really strong smell! QW: But that would be expected from fertilizer. QW: Her vines love it! QW: In fact they claimed several bags for themselves. QW: Which was something of a bother. QW: She didn’t have enough for her pumpkin patch! To access the items inside Cali must plant the seeds in the ground and wait for the flower to bloom to access the item inside. [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]powers & skills[/style] ❧ Cali is able to use a vine in many different ways, much like a piece of rope or a whip, for both utility and defense. Cali’s very presence causes the growth of plants to accelerate at alarming rates, but once they bloom or have ripened they stay that way for an impossibly long time. (This actually functions as pockets of time being fast-forwarded or slowed down around the plants, though it’s not something Cali can control). [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]medium[/style] ❧ The Land of Botany and Teeth (LOBAT) is a planet overgrown with plant-life. It is literally one giant forest, with many different species of plants, some not even recognizable from Earth. Many of the plants hold some amount of sentience and even have mouths, and tend to enjoy eating anything that wanders too near to them. The consorts of LOBAT are literally walking plants with bulbs for heads (similar in appearance to the Pokémon Bellsprout), who wander around tending to massive gardens and watering plants. As such they tend to get eaten quite frequently. Hephaestus has large bulldozer-like machines working to clear out the foliage and leave the planet bare, to make room for his Forge.
