But she was cruel and sadistic, so otherworldy beings locked her down and made her mortal. She finds herself on the land she used to rule, without any knowledge of how she got there or any powers left to her. All she has is her mask that restrains her, it's the key to her memories and her sight but she cannot remove it. ...But she doesn't know of this past. ❧ Rako first came to earth 16 years ago, and found herself on the firey island nation of Iceland. The locals were wary of her because of the voices in her head and the mask she could not remove. An old fisherman took her in and she lived there on the coast with him for a short while. She would keep him company and sing to him during these years, but as he was on his death bed he gave her a ticket to america where she could pursue a career in music. ❧ When she arrived in America, she found that there was someone already there waiting to greet her. The old man who'd taken her in had arranged for an interview with a famous Opera, ensuring her care. She never forgot this old man who'd given her life when she had nothing. ❧ Rako now lives in the Opera house, and because she'd lived there from a young age, became one of their lead stars. She has an assistant who acts as both a partner in plays and a guide so she can work around the staging and other singers. Her assistant teaches her the new pieces by singing Rako's part to her, then having her repeat, and also trains her to move around the set. While Rako's capable of moving around on her own, she usually never leaves her assistant's side. If need be, she has a staff that functions partially as an accessory, but she uses it as a way to see and in self defense. ❧ Rako's guardian stays at the Opera house with her, and keeps a close eye on her to make sure the diva's okay. [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]home[/style] ❧ Rako's dressing room doubles as her personal living quarters. Because she's been with the Opera since a young age, they accommodate her quite well. She has a personal assistant who has a room linked to hers through a door. Because her room also functions as her dressing room and make up area, its often very tidy, and everything has been in the same place since she'd gotten there. She has an extensive closet full of her costumes, and often times will wear outfits from old performances for the hell of it. She doesn't actually know what they look like, but they're made for use in performances, so she assumes they're at least a little nice. [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]typing style[/style] CD: I use the tilde a lot~ CD: but usually ill only type a few lines at a time~ CD: since i like to keep things to the point, i might also...~ type everything at one time into one message~ CD: to avoid being overwhelming and sending many messages~ CD: i dont really care for punctuation other than my beloved tilde~ CD: and i might speak in an old fashioned or overly proper manner... but thats just a habit and there isnt much i can do about it anyways~ CD: in fact i usually only bother with punctuation when im in a particularly good mood~ i will also tend to... perhaps type more and make a few errors due to missing my keys CD: it is quite difficult to type while blind you know~ CD: and voice recognition doesnt work that well for me anyways... so i dont normally bother troubling myself with it~ [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]symbol[/style] [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]fetch modus[/style] ❧ Crescendo Modus; Rako uses her voice to summon items from her sylladex. After captchaloguing an item, a short tune will play from her dex. In order to retrieve it, she must perform the same tune. Upon hitting the final note, the item is ejected. The more intense her performance it, the higher velocity the item will be ejected with. This is useful for flinging weapons or items at enemies but makes it extremely inconvenient for practical item retrieval. [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]powers & skills[/style] ❧ Enhanced Hearing; Due to Rako's blindness, she hears things much clearer and sharper. There's constant, chattering, clicking, hissing, and whispering in a strange language in her head. It's soft, but they start screaming if she ever tries to take her mask off. Her enhanced hearing also allows her to pinpoint and target sounds, making it easy for her to know where to aim her throwing knives despite being blind. ❧ Vocals; Rako is an amazing singer. She's the lead vocalist at a famous Opera, and prefers singing classical pieces. She can read notes using braille, but most of the time she learns her songs by listening. [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]medium[/style] ❧ The Land of Echoes and Twine is a land that's dark and full of chasms. long planes will suddenly drop off into a cliff. Long strings hold the world together, from tying down floating rock formations to bridging across deep valleys to stop gravity from pulling the planet apart. ❧ the consorts of her world are twitchy, nervous orange snakes that often end up tangling themselves together somehow. They don't really do much, but sometimes they end up slithering right off the edge of cliffs. [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]sidequest[/style] ❧ Rako must find a way to hold her planet together or doom it to falling apart and cutting the ropes. ❧ She's also on a quest to destroy her mask and regain her memories and sight. ❧ Finally, It's Rako's job to lead team two to victory.
