Part of the group's FLARP group Aethal's FLARP character is known as ARBITER DESPAIRR, a hard hitting and no-nonsense maverick that plays everything by the book but is still a loose cannon when need be (this makes perfect sense, at least to Aethal). Justice always prevails and ARBITER DESPAIRR is there to dispense it, for better or for worse!Being such a stickler for the rules and for the ways things ought to be has often brought Aethal into conflict with the more chaotic elements of the FLARP party, with Aethal refusing to break character no matter what occurs. Under the watchful and baleful gaze of his Lusus, a dreading SNIFFER LUPINE, Aethal has learned to track his quarry much in the same way his Lusus tracked him through those turbulent early sweeps, and while Aethal is able to track his quarry without sniffing the air and licking everything he still admires his Lusus' single mindedness when attempting to find its quarry, as well as its sharp fangs and savage claws when it finally does sniff him out (and it always will, no matter how hard he hides or how much extra stink he puts on to mask his scent). With dreams of becoming a Legislacerator since he was just a grub, Aethal no longer sees this as an aspiration but more a duty, as if it was yet another event that must be occur so that the universe. With childlike enthusiasm evolving into grim, hardboiled resolve worthy of any self respecting Legislacerator. Raised on a healthy diet of exciting and glamorous literature, cinema and gaming has only served to strengthen Aethal's desire to become a Legislacerator, as well as form a respect and sense of awe for the veterans of action-based media. Sitting near the middle of the hemospectrum has been both a blessing and a curse, allowing Aethal to speak with relative ease to the lower bloods he is acquainted with while also alienating him from the higherbloods somewhat, a status befitting a mediator and soon-to-be law enforcer of Alternia, even if he isn't particularly good at mediating peacefully. Taking comfort in rules and the knowledge that even in uncertain times some things never change, as he has gotten this older this comfort has quickly soured, and he is now equally haunted by the concept of faint and inevitability, as well as the potential futility of upholding the law. However his resolve stays strong and as he is rapidly maturing into adulthood he has also developed the resolve to pursue truth, justice and order above all else. Even if he has to step on a few toes to do it. THE JUSTICAR Aethal's ancestor is none other than THE JUSTICAR, a stalwart protector of the old Alternian way of life, his patience for those that might upset the natural balance of things was legendarily low and he would not hesitate to dispense swift, violent justice to any that would dare threaten the system and regime he considered himself the protector of. He was originally to serve as THE LODESTAR's executioner, however her life was taken by THE DARKENED before she was presented for her proper execution, a fact that THE JUSTICAR was secretly embittered about for the rest of his life after, considering the considerable amount of time and resources he'd invested in pursuing her to no avail. THE JUSTICAR is attributed with being the one to try and successfully execute THE BETRAYER, the troll responsible for betraying THE LODESTAR in the first place. His obsession over the case was matched only for his hatred of THE DARKENED, it was a fixation that consumed him as he was forced to see a traitor and a murderer elude justice. It was this obsession that caused him to hunt THE DARKENED after the death of THE LODESTAR, determined to put THE DARKENED to trial and to see him dead for his crimes, however THE DARKENED'S wits and guile saw him elude capture time and time again. Eventually THE JUSTICAR managed to apprehend and present THE DARKENED for his trial, however his prosecution failed in the face of THE DARKENED's machinations, and as per Alternian Law THE JUSTICAR was sentenced to death. In accordance with his years of tireless service THE JUSTICAR was permitted to specify his means of death, choosing to have himself sealed in the catacombs beneath the Alternian High Court. THE JUSTICAR knew fully well that his use of the proper channels and methods of prosecution would not turn up a conviction, however he pursued them regardless, willing to lay down his life in accordance with the law he lived to protect. That is not to say he let his old foe best him, however. His last gift to THE DARKENED, before he was sealed away in the dank gloom of the High Court's Catacombs, was a high-explosive bomb delivered to THE DARKENED'S HIVE. A bomb that would have linked to a proximity trigger, awaiting the defendant to return home. Sure enough, THE JUSTICAR and THE DARKENED wound up killing other. With approximately a hundred cells, all tragically empty (considering the mortality rate of criminals on Alternia, a hundred cells seems a little unnecessary, although this did not dawn on the architects at the time) Aethal spends his time dipping into his extensive collection of Books, Films and Games when he isn't practicing with his handguns or being stalked by his Lusus. The SNITCH MODUS will deny any knowledge of items contained within until paid, and depending on how HARDBOILED its user is feeling and how long it's been since it was last used, it can sometimes take several bribes and a little rough treatement to get it to cough up the item requested. The inhabitants of LOGAH are largely nomadic, living on both sea-faring and air-faring vessels, the only static settlements being the huge number of ports and harbors dotted along LOGAH's cliffs, coastlines and floating islands. The world is in a perpetual state of twilight as its sun is apparently dying, and the last vestiges of a government openly exploit their populace and ignore their own laws, a mockery of a once great civilization that will soon die completely along with its world. The inhabitants of LOGAH are FORGETFUL INDIGO EAGLES that enjoy SAILING. The Lawmaster of LOGAH, Eunomia, abuses her subjects' forgetfulness and nomadic nature and while enforcing the law with an Iron fist, her regime's elite are free to loot, plunder and cause chaos as they see fit. [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px white;]sidequest[/style] ❧ To bring Law to the Lawless, and to punish those that abuse the Law for their own ends. The political situation being what it is on LOGAH will result in a myriad of difficult moral decisions for Aethal, which are made all the more pressing as well as ultimately futile by the dying world itself. It is there that Aethal is to learn what it is to be a Lawbringer in a Lawless land, and what is necessary to ensure that the universe moves in the way it should, even if that means leading it into its appointed end. | [atrb=width,150][atrb=valign,top][atrb=bgcolor,B9FC6F][atrb=style,color:252525; padding: 8px;][style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px #252525;]positive[/style] ❧ Lawful ❧ Desires justice above all else ❧ Willing to cooperate with his peers without an ulterior motive, provided their motivations don't hinder his own ❧ Perceptive when performing an investigation ❧ Possesses an Iron Will [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px #252525;]negative[/style] ❧ Fatalistic ❧ Prepared to achieve justice via ANY means ❧ Bloody-minded ❧ Prone to fits of Existential Angst ❧ Is particularly adept at VIOLENT GUNG-HO LAW ENFORCEMENT [style=font-size:14px; letter-spacing: 3px; border-bottom: dotted 1px #252525;]interests[/style] ❧ Action Books, Films and Games, particularly those involving Law Enforcers or Government Types.
